The triangles are called prairie points. Really easy to make, a little bit of a pain to sew on, but worth the effort. I think there are different ways of making them. I took a square of fabric, folded it in half on the diagnol (that doesn't looked like I spelled it correctly), pressed it then folded again and pressed again. This way you have all your raw edges on one side and then when you sew that to the quilt, you have no raw edges.
