My first jeans quilt was made from 22 pairs of old much loved jeans and I made them into a rag quilt with fluffy seams. I used flannel for the backing. It was random pattern with the different shades and colours of the denim making the pattern as it grew. I sewed on pockets and a variety of jean labels too. I gave it to a biker friend. My tip would be to make sure that you have lots of appropriate thread as it seems to eat up thread. It took me two days to make a king size quilt. Good luck. I am sure you will be hooked.
