for the slow cooker or the day before
Hungarian Goulash
1/4 cup shortening
2 lbs Beef cut into 1 in cubes
1 cut sliced onion
1 - 4 garlic minced - to taste I use 4 med size
3/4 cup Ketcup
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons paprika
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
dash of cayenne red pepper
1 1/2 Water or dry red wine to enrich flavours
2 tablespoon flour - use to thicken sauce after cooked
1/4 cup water
Melt shortening brown beef onion and garlic until tender add rest of ingredients .. cover and simmer 2 or 2 1/2 hours or slow cook it. blend in flour and 1/4 cup water, stir into cooked mixture stiring constantly.. serve over noodles with a green salad and garlic bread. It will all disappear, you won't have leftovers
