[quote=Honey] I decided I wanted to do something different from everyone else. My mom did all kinds of needle work and my sister is a very talented seamstress.

My mom also did needlework, knitting and crocheting and my sister was a talented seamstress too. I was also the youngest. I always felt that my sister could do anything better than me. She was 6 yrs older, brothers between us. When I was about 12 my mother wanted my sister to show me how to sew clothes. I wanted nothing to do with it. I wanted to be outside playing with my friends. Now my sister is amazed at the quilts and other crafty things that I do. I actually started quilting when my kids were young. I saw quilts in a shop and decided I wanted to try it. I took two quilt classes, log cabin, for my son, and trip around the world for my daughter. Fell in love with quilting, but life and family got in the way. I always knew I would go back to quilting later in life. I retired 5 years ago and immediately got back into quilting. Bought a great machine with retirement money, joined a quild, and took as many classes as I could.
