I want to do the best thing for a nice quilt as my DSIL so shyly, and sweetly asked me to make him a quilt after I gave all the grandchildren quilts for Christmas and he got a shirt  That just made my day that he wants a quilt from me.
I've made several rag quilts, and have missed clipping some seams because it gets so "busy" and those lost edges get hard to see, but when it's washed, those edges look really bad, so I'd suggest clipping it.
