i always pre wash my fabric before starting a quilt (just my desire) and when i am done quilting the quilt and binding is on i put mine in the washer on regular cycle ,warm water and a small amount of detergent , wash it dry it in the dryer. if it is a nice day out i will take it out of the dryer early and lay it outside to finish drying. but i like to make sure it is clean and washer proof before i give it or sell it to someone
