Most all of us are in agreement - kids need supervision. We just found out our 11 year old grandson had a Facebook page set up at his dads. When we found out our daughter shut it down and also his email. She had a discussion with both of her boys that no Facebook until you're 13. So at their father's house they went against her instructions. They of course had a long discussion on the topic of disregarding instructions, and also the consequences of their actions.
