I do like the idea of having it DONE when it's done. I think having the backing all in one piece would take less fabric. What do you think?
I've done it that way, Lucy, but in that case it was with 2inch sashings. Doing it that way with these little blocks and only half inch (or in my case 3/4in) sashings would have produced more bulk in the sashings (and yes, you are right, it would take more backing fabric because of all the seams involved.)
