Singer 221's are quality, easily maintained machines. get out
the book that came with your machine. It is full of all the
things you need to know. oil the bobbin area the most frequently. depends on much you sew. before a class,a couple of times at a retreat. lube twice a year. oil everywhere that metal runs against metal--the book shows it all. clean under
the needle area. remember to check the "finger" position when
you put plate back on !many a $$ has been made by repair people for this simple thing. they should just fix it & say "happy sewing" no charge ! we repair & sell 221's, if you
