Up state New York, no fire at campsites is a safety factor, some people are not that careful with fire. We have lots of trees and don't want to loose them. Hope that didn't spoil your fun at the campsite. Don't camp anymore bought a cottage 32 years ago, now sleep in a real bed but still miss the camping.
