I took a long-arm quilting class at one of my local quilt shops, thinking that I would be able to rent time on their machine afterwards. Fail! The quilts I was looking to do, I wouldn't have been able to finish in one day - probably would have taken me the first hour (at $20 per hour),at least, just to get it set up. She talked about using pantograph patterns, but didn't really show us how to use one....argh. I could "audit" future classes at no charge if I wanted to, but without hands on practice, I didn't see the point. Still makes my head hurt to think about it. Sheesh.
