I have the "craft" gene, given to me by both my Grand mothers. As far as I know quilting was never I craft I saw. When I was younger I use to make my own clothes, knit, cross-stitch, crochet, and do tatting.

One weekend many years ago, after a particularly rotten season of full on rain, we (my now ex-husband and I) decided to head out of the city and travel until we found the sun. 3 hours later we ended out in a lovely town. Not much was open, but the craft store was. It contained all kinds of crafts - including quilting. Well - I saw those quilts on the walls and was enthralled.

After coming back to the city I enrolled in a stained glass window project at the non so local LQS - and that began my love for this craft. I've been quilting for about 13 years now.

I machine piece, but LOVE the hand quilting process. So incredibly soothing to the soul.

So you could say that I "found the light" when I found quilting :) (okay - a little tongue in cheek on that one)
