I have both and I have tried both. Aunt Beckys does not work for me, my needle slips off of it so fast that I get huge stitches. T. J.s does work well, but even better for me is an old spoon that my DH cut part of the handle off of. I wanted to try T.J.s but I have tried so many things that didn't work that I decided to make my own first rather than spend the money and have it not work. When my own spoon did work, I decided to buy the T.J. one, I figured it would work even better since it was designed for quilting, but to my surprise, I like my spoon better. I use it like Jean Brown uses Aunt Becky, the same motion, and it is great, really saves my fingers. I am not near as fast, maybe someday.
