I use olive oil all the time. The taste depends on the variety of olive used -- I have a couple that I just love. One is very fresh and grassy tasting, the other is more of a buttery taste. Both wonderful. I've tried all kinds of brands and the best I've found for an overall great oil is Academia Barilla. In my opinion, the best oils are from Italy (just make sure that the bottle says Product of Italy -- anything else isn't really Italian oil). Also, make sure that the bottle is a dark color and you store it in a dark cool place. Heat and light are not good for olive oil.
