Your stash looks more realistic than many I've seen because all fabrics don't fold neatly, especially if you've cut part of them. I simply arrange mine by color or kind of fabric, like batiks together, Oriental designs, etc. I store them as you do. (not"standing up" like some ). Actually, many of them look like they're untouched and still in a fabric store.
Have fun and don't worry so much about being a "neatnik."
