Don, when you type something, first make sure your cursor is in the typing box, type what you want to say, then just hit the enter key on your keyboard, and that should put the message up onto the page. If you find the chat isn't working right for you, it's because sometimes the chatroom just acts up on people, the best thing to do then is to try logging out and signing in again, and then usually things are fine.
