The art theme was definitely true. I didn't care for most of the ones at the convention center. One first place ribbon was a single piece fabric quilt completely machine quilted! Wow. Lots of talent there. A lot of picture and applique pieces. And apparently the big thing this year is to put jewels and metallic thread in your quilt. I kept expecting one of the vendors to sell a Bedazzler! The vendor quilts were much more to my liking.
Those don't sound like quilts I'd be interested in driving all that way to see. Don't get me wrong, I realize that art quilts take alot of talent that I don't have, but I just don't care for them that much.
