I learned to quilt about 25-30 years ago and made many quilts, but have been away from it for a few years. I feel like I'm starting all over in many respects, but am enjoying that excitement of planning and making something both beautiful (I hope) and serviceable. I finished a crib quilt with matching doll quilt for a grandchild-to-be, and was very happy with the results and relieved that my daughter is happy, too. It's wonderful to create a hand-quilted article that may be passed on for generations to come. I'm a little frightened at the symptoms of fabric-hoarding I feel again, but it's a lovely way to go.
