Laura,
I love the fabrics your DH picked out for your third Church block. After seeing all of these neat blocks, I am wanting to make another one & be more adventuresome with some of my fabric's!!

OK, I did it! It took me awhile to "get" the fact that I had to trim before I sewed. And cut before I sewed. Just a learning process for this ole woman. You know....teaching an old dog new tricks.

SandyL......It is sooooo cute!!! I love the curly Qs!

Some of us mentioned this before........Just say to yourself: "wrong side of fabric to wrong side of pattern". This is the step that I always get mixed up.

All of you "first timers" are doing a fantastic job!!!!

I was determined NOT to let this get the best of me. I would have gotten it if it took me 3 days! I think I've been sewing for so many years this process just seemed backwards to me. And I still am not convinced that I couldn't have done as well with piecing. What is the advantage anyway? So many scraps of paper in my room now and teeny tiny pieces of fabric, too. But I got it! I got a lot of help from the tutorials on here.

Love them both...I too can't seem to get out of a certain box and Whimsical would be mine also...Also have to reflect what things would actually look like...I'll have to try a Whimsical myself...good job...
