It is amazing how different a block can look when you use fabric in a different place. Very very nice.

I am having the same problem as you with these strips not lining up when sewed. I'm sewing a ripping (carefully) and have been trying to make things work. I too need some help!!!!

Hi Floralfab. I haven't discovered any good secret but here's what I ended up doing, and it's going to be hard to explain. After placing the two pieces at 90 degrees to each other and having the point extend a generous 1/4 inch, I drew a line from one junction to the other and sewed on that. It wasn't always exactly parallel to the edge but the pieces came out better. I'm still looking for a better idea. I really did cut as carefully as could when cutting pieces. I'll try to include a picture of what I mean.

Whitepine, thank you so much for your explaination and diagram. I did as you suggested and the edges lined up so much better!!! You saved my day!

You're welcome Floralfab, but that that wasn't the right answer. The line should really be parallel with the edge so I don't know what we're doing wrong or how to do it right.

It was the lining up that I was doing wrong so I did as your diagram showed then pinned across both pieces 1/4" (eyeballed this) then turned it over to the right side and in most cases it lined up right. If it was off then I took out the pins and moved the piece on top over a little and sewed it and it worked out good.
