Good Grief MonaLisa. I don't like the quilting part either. That is why I am so far behind in it but you can't have spent all that time making those blocks and just give them away. Please tell me NO.

Ditto that big time! I feel lucky that I like to FMQ. When it's too big to quilt in one piece, I break it down into sections like I'm doing on this one.

Hooked, Wow. Your quilt is wonderful. Sixty blocks!! I really like the new ones you created, like the Michigan/Ohio combination. All at eight inches.....

Mona Lisa, I'm kind of like you...enjoy making blocks. Actually, I've never tried quilting so I can't say I hate that part. I took a FMQ class and enjoyed it but never took it any further. It will take so much practice before trying it on a quilt. I am going to put the stars together though, then store it.

I'm envious of you who have your stars done. I still have seven to go.

PokerDiva--I have been watch this thread on and off and your fabrics have often caught my eye reminding me of a kaleidoscope. Is your border fabric what you used through out the quilt?

I have been thinking about making this quilt. Does this book give measurements on how much fabric you need if you want to use the same fabric somewhere in each block? If not, how much fabric did you buy?

Sorry my friend. But I can't tell you no. I even have a box of Doak's Mariner's compass stars waiting to be rescued!

WOW Poker that is beautiful. I love your color choices. Do you know how you are going to quilt it yet. Like some of the others on here I can never decide how to quilt my quilts. I am still making up my mind whether to quilt this myself or send it to my longarmer. It is awful big and heavy to FMQ. Mostly I have anything bigger than a twin quilted. I still need to make my back. I am working on a pair of PJ's for my grandson. I took him to the LQS and he pulled a bolt of fabric off of the shelf and was yelling I need this, so I had to buy it. It was Yo Gabba Flannel. He is 2 1/2 and so cute.(and spoiled by grandma)

Carrie, I am sorry to say that the book does not tell you but I can tell you that I started with 6 yards of my focus fabric. Some stars took more fabric some less. I still had a yard left over when all the blocks were done but I did use it in my border. And I did make 6 extra blocks. I believe the one that had the background fabric all the same needed 6 yards also. It is a guessing game. Hope you decide to make it. In the end you will be glad.

MonaLisa, I hope you find someone who will love your blocks as they were all beautiful and I would hate to see them stashed away forever.

Seeing such pretty stars! Great job ladies!!

Mona Lisa- yours are great too! Perhaps they can be a quilt for some Sandy folks if you don't want the blocks-?
