Found this thread and it looks very interesting. I have to go through my stash today and see what I can find. Will be playing catch up but I did print everything out.

Hello, jaba. I think I remember your name from the birthday candies swap a couple of years ago. Tomorrow's clue is an easy one but you could probably do in your sleep!

I was in the b-day swap and will do it again. This year I didn’t join because of so much health issues. Living with the after effects of cancer has been a challenge for me and for my doctors.
looked through some stash today and found a couple of possibilities but I’m just not quite feeling it. Will look again tomorrow and see if nothing pops out at me. If not I’ll try to go to the quilt shop or send hubby in to pick something and surprise me. He actually has very good taste when he goes with me and finds things that I love.

I hear you, Jaba. Cancer treatment is the hardest thing I've ever done. It just goes on and on, a full 8 months for me between finding the lump, surgery, chemo, and finishing radiation. Hugs. Will you be doing the lap quilt or the queen?

Week 4:

Nothing so confusing as last week’s corner beams! We’re making old-fashioned 4-patches this week. You need to make 16 (24) fourpatches of #1 + #2 and 20 (28) 4-patches of #1 and #4. (Remember that the parentheses are for people making queen-size.) If either fabric #2 (paired with fabric #1) or fabric #1 (paired with fabric #4) lend themselves to fussy cutting, you may want to do that. Don't do it with #1 paired with #2!

From Fabric #1 cut 6 strips 2 inches by width of fabric ( hereafter abbreviated as WOF). (12 strips 3 inches by WOF.)

From Fabric #2 cut 4 strips 2 inches by WOF. (11 strips, 3 inches by WOF.)

From Fabric #3 cut 2 strips 2 inches by WOF (6 strips by WOF)

From Fabric #4, cut 3 strips 2 inches by WOF. (6 strips 3 inches by WOF.)

Sew two strips of fabric #1 to two strips of fabric #2 down the full length of the strips. Crosscut into 2-inch sub-units. You want 32 units. Also cut 2 - 3 1/2 inch split-square units. Set those last two units aside and sew the 24 2-inch units into 12 4-patches. (Queen people will need 4 strips each of #1 and #2. Your 56 subunits are cut at 3 inches and you will also cut 4 split-square units at 5.5 inches.)

Sew 2 strips of #1 to 2 strips of #4 and crosscut into 40 subunits. Sew these into 20 4-patches. (4 strips each of #1 and #4. Cut into 56 3-inch subunits and sew these into 28 4-patches.)

Bag up the 4-patches by color and set remaining strips aside; you will need them for next week.

IceLeopard, thanks for the clue.

I'm not clear on what happens with fabric #3?

You'll need it next week. I figured if you're going to be cutting strips, you might as well cut all of them at once.

Just doing the small one for now Ice, was being a little choosy on fabric. I’m almost caught up, put the corner things last.....I hate doing those. Might be time to order the ruler😏
