"December 15 2011 STAR BOM - Directions and Discussion."

Here is the December Star BOM. It is called the 9-Patch Star. This is a little early, but I did not want it to be late with the holidays. Enjoy!!

Go to this web site (Carol Doak) Free Quilt Patterns.
    http://www.caroldoak.com/free-quilt-patterns.php

Scroll down to the bottom of the page for the “Tool Caddy for Your Paper Piecing Tools”. I used the star pattern from this.

Click to download the pdf and it will take you to the pattern. The paper template is there.

    Star fabric:
1/4 yd. Background - Cut the following pieces:
    Black:
    4 - 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" corner squares
    8 - 2 1/2" x 4" Location numbers 2, 3

1/8 yd. Small star points –

    Cut the following pieces:
    Yellow:
    4 - 3 1/4" x 3 1/4", cut once diagonally for Location numbers 4, 5

1/8 yd. Center star point – Cut the following pieces:
    Pink:
    4 - 2 3/4" x 4 3/4" Location number 1

    Center square:
    Blue:
    1 - 4 1/2" x 4 1/2"
The paper piecing pattern is on the bottom of the page. You can always make the apron if you want!

    Blessings!

I'm in, guess I'll be doing lots of PP in the coming year - also joined PokerDiva's PP group from Carol's 50 stars book. We're going to be 'smoking' in 2012 with our machines.

Hi Broomstix, I think you didn't scroll down far enough. Scroll down further to Tool Caddy and use that star pattern.

The directions are in the first post of this thread. Just follow Carsey's directions. When you get to the website, be sure to scroll down to the Tool Caddy almost at the bottom, that's the star we're using for this month. I didn't understand Carsey's reference to an apron either. Maybe she meant to say Tool Caddy. Good luck.

Oh my goodness! You are so right. I did mean the Tool Caddy. I am sorry, I did not mean to confuse anyone. Have a Merry CHRISTMAS!!

I can not get on the carol doak website to print this pattern. It keeps saying website moved permanently. Anyone else have this problem? How else can I get the pattern to finish BOM?

Gee, Carolyn, I don't know what to tell you. I tried and cannot access her website either. It's possible she's just having server problems or something and if you wait a day or two and try again.

Glad to hear it finally worked for you. Computers are wonderful when they work right, but sometimes the little glitches cause us stress we really don't need.

Your star is beautiful. I am a little behind, but still hanging in there. My stars are chocolate.
