You're all too kind with your words!
I just wish that some/all or even one of you were close enough to drop by and share some tea and help me when I start deciding on their final positions in the quilt. Thank heavens for a large design wall!

JanRN ... Glad you have them to ENJOY!! And BTW ... I did Verna WITHOUT any Y-seams!

... oh they don't worry about water around here ... just have a puddle in a field and they are there. Or even without water, so long as there's some corn or beans in the field, they are happy to drop by!

We attended country school in our 7th and 8th grade, then went into town for High School. Its good to see your progress on the PC blocks. I love the way you keep to the blue and white theme, and have neat looking blocks.

What great movement in Verna Belle-so pretty.

I went to country school from 1st through 6th. I'll never regret the time spent there. One of the last schools to close in the state of Minnesota in the 1970's.

Thank you for all of your kind comments.
It looks like I couldn't even spell country right. The first school I went to my brother & I had to ride a horse, it was ok until he traded saddles with someone for an english saddle and I didn't have the saddle horn to hang onto. Then later during the winter the stove caught on fire and it was so cold I went home with a girl so we could get warm. My parents looked all over for me. Then we went to school in someones garage for awhile. My MIL taught at 2 different country schools, when they closed them she got a job teaching at West Branch school (near Iowa City) until she retired.

GrannyQ ... The star fabric worked so well for Verna and let the blues come above it.

I went to a one room school, just for Grade One. Then they opened a ten room school which was in the field next to our farm. I'm glad I had the one year to know what it was like. Good memories at both, but being that I lived next door, I did not get to ride the school bus ... and missed out on the all important, social part of school!
