Hi everyone. This block uses half-square triangles and flying geese - two that I needed extra practice doing.

    http://mccallsquilting.com/qb/pattern_105/

    Hope you enjoy it.

Repeat after me: "I can do this"; "I can do this"; "I can do this".

    Great block, Connie.
Why do you suppose flying geese bug me so much? I can do them. I don't mind the half-square triangles any more. (I just cut them a little larger then trim them down) But oh, those geese! Well, we shall practice and they too shall be won over! Really! We CAN do this :!:
Thanks for encouraging us to strive for more than we think we want!

    Thanks Connie,
I like the square, and as my Mother (God bless her soul) used to always tell me. Practice makes perfect. And boy do i need it.

Uh-oh...half-square triangles and flying geese! Paper-piecing is the only way I'm gonna tackle this one...

O.K. Half square triangles and flying geese are not my favorite patches to put together either. But someone asked for help making them -

    http://www.quiltingboard.com/posts/list/2070.page

    - and everyone gave such great advice, I thought we would all take that advice and try them out.

Remember, we can do anything we set our minds to, and the block really is pretty.

    Absolutely!!!!

I need the practice, too. The scary blocks are the best. I still have so many different things to try and to learn. This is a great way to do that.
