Whew! Somebody suggested batiks! I just happened to have a bunch of leftovers sitting on the ironing board that was headed to the scrap bins. I already had some batik charms cut & waiting on a project, but I've been cutting all morning on those scraps! I think I have enough to do 2 of these runners & still have leftovers! Now I keep changing my mind about fabric A. Fabric B doesn't seem to be a problem, just the A fabric. I'll get it figured out though! Time for a little nosh...how about some grilled cheese sandwiches & New England clam chowder? I'll put some in the club car.

Finally decided. Going fall. The yellow/gold/orange fabric will be my sashing.

Judy: This is how its going together. Pretty pleased with the colors, just have to wait and see if it works with your design.

Ok, all caught up on both quilts I am doing. I went with plain white for A on the girl & the pink will be B. For the boy I went with blue for A and the tan will be B. Judy will this work? I am having lots of repeats for the rest, I didn't go with only 1 per square. Looking at what's been posted, everyone's is going to be soooooooooo different looking. I just love these trains......thanks, Judy!

I've been lurking in the background to see how this works. I love the idea of it,Soooooo..... I went ahead and picked out some fabric and cut it up and sewed it all today. I took a couple pictures. One is in the middle of sewing them on my singer66 it's a 1927.The other is a few of my blocks sewn together. So far this is really easy and sew much fun. Thanks Judy. [url]

I note that most are doing theme colors not totally scrappy is this going to showcase the design Paintmejudy? or is more scrappy your intent for these? I love the fall selections instantly my eyes sneak to those.. still on the fence should go for it but so many projects already going.. the size sort of stumps me. I do not have a table that would fit a 41" or so square mat on it. I agree with some who are going larger. How much more fabric to make a large throw would be needed?

Vicki and Lawso, -- awesome blocks, will be beautiful!

My intent, Elisabrat, is for you to be happy. Scrappy, not scrappy, controlled scrappy, one color ... your topper, your choice. No wrong As to size, I told you about what size you will finish with, go from there what you would need on a quilt of what size you need.
