12" Rosellen's Cross: done my way. At the 12" size, it seemed silly to have all that wasted fabric from mulitple layers. I determined that a 10" circle would fit nicely on the 12.5" foundation. I drew that circle directly onto the foundation fabric.

Enlarge Template A to 200%. Measure 2.5" from the skinny end and cut it off. That 2.5" end is the new Template A.

On a piece of paper, draw a 10" diameter circle. Draw lines through the circle to make it into 4 equal pie shapes. Mark those spots on the circle. Draw a straight line between 2 spots, making a 7" line. Cut out the whole circle. Now fold on the 7" line. Cut around the arc of the circle. You now have a 7" long football shape, which is your Template B.

Place the fabric covered Template B's directly on the foundation fabric, aligning it up with the pre-drawn circle.

Slide Template A's under the Template B's, bringing their tips to where they just touch. Be sure these are spaced equally in, so that your center square (which is foundation fabric showing through) is truly centered.

If you want a different fabric in your center square, slide it under the Template A pieces before you zz them down.

I hope this makes sense to you. If you have questions, be sure to ask.

hugs, Jupiter

Jupiter - both of your blocks came out beautifully! I love the little daisy peeking out of the middle on your big block. Great save on the cut! My heart would have stopped if I had done that. I don't know whether I would have been calm enough to fix it like that.

Jupiter - you coped with that little "Oops" like a hero. Great job.

Great blocks also. Blue is my favourite colour but I sure love that brown/green fabric.

Jupiter, your blocks are fantastic. Great save on the yellow and blue block.

There seems to be about 6 or 7 posting pics of blocks.

Are you all out there quietly glueing, stitching and soaking? Or have I missed some posts and need to go back through the thread and pay better attention this time?
Thanks for the nice comment on my poor funny block. I agree with you about how few postings of blocks there are. I'm wondering how many are out there actually working on these as well...

So far those of us that have posted pics are following quite different colour schemes/fabric choices and that makes it very interesting to see the variety in the completed blocks.

I would really love to see any others that are out there as well.

You just have to remember that it is only a little piece of fabric. Deep sigh, then start taking out stitches! lol

Love seeing the different blocks. I have a huge wedding today with out of state and out of country guests. Most will be leaving tomorrow so I can have my sewing room back and my "serene routine" as my friends call my retirement life. ;-)

I have one done and have some thoughts on the next, so won't be long before I catch up.

March 6th is our next "Catch Up" week. I think we should each post one photo that has all of our blocks together. THAT would be fun to see!
