jan. good for you. i can remember when i was a little girl, my grandma treasured her prize money from the okla state fair. she used to enter her quilts and get blue ribbons for them. in fact, my hand quilt frame was built from the memory of hers.

I love the idea of how many people are getting to see these lovely 'Janes'. Good Luck Jan and with the others too.

Good luck, Jan. You will have to let us know how your quilts do at the shows.

Wooo Hooo - 400 pages, my, this thread has come a long way.

For those of you still working on your Jane's, well done for persevering. Don't give up, it is such an amazing quilt when you are done. It's the best quilt I have made (to date) and gives me a lot of pleasure. I have entered mine in two competitions now, and won both. Prizes were €40 in the first, and €50 and a Brother Innovis 10A machine in the other. You too can do it! Jan, I hope the judges recognise all your efforts too, and give you first prize. We get red ribbons here, and you have blue ones I understand, but I hope you get some $$$ to go with the ribbon.

lacelady. did you wash your quilt before you entered it? just wondering. because mine is going to need it.

Lacelady 08-27-2011 06:53 AM

No - its still as I made it. I haven't had the nerve to, yet.

do quilts usually get washed before being placed in a show? i would think not. because the appearance usually changes somewhat. doesn't it?
