Yes, I paper pieced it, then I added extra fabric around the block to make it 12 1/2" in size. Believe me, it's not perfect, but I am learning right along with everyone else. Glad you like it!!

Love your choices for your block, Sulabug! What a warm and inviting church! The glow from the windows makes me feel like something special is going on in there right now. :)

I Love it, I'm getting started!

sewhappy30 01-01-2011 07:12 AM

Beautiful!! I have the same green fabric that I think I'm going to use for my grass as well. We'll see knowing me I'll change my mind half a dozen times. LOL

I'm so excited!!!!

linmid 01-01-2011 07:36 AM

Wow Your block is great. Now I can't wait to get started. Thanks Sulabug.

Matilda 01-01-2011 07:47 AM

You have to make sure of the sizing though. I just printed mine out and one sheet was to scale and one was 62% and the third was 70% of what it is supposed to be. If you have a writing program, Word or something that shows a ruler then make sure the 1" square is actually one inch. If it isn't you can drag it to make it larger. I hope this makes sense.

Your block looks super. I can't wait to get started.

quiltinghere 01-01-2011 07:51 AM

I normally use OPERA as a browser but had to use Internet explorer and change the settings a bit in order to get the 1" test square to measure 1".

Great looking block - makes me want to make mine RIGHT NOW!

Up North 01-01-2011 08:03 AM

Just printed it out to to find just the right fabric in this pile of stuff!

Short an Sweet 01-01-2011 08:19 AM

I pulled all my fabric for this, gonna practice today and put it together this week, after I finish my row for RR

Karla, love your choice of fabrics!

I am so happy you chose the church. I have a piece of material I have saved to do stained glass windows with. I will not be able to show pictures but I will start the block today.

Nothing to do today but sew...I wish this was an indication of 2011! I have never done a BOM so i was unsure of fabric. I decided to use this swirl fabric that I had in each block, and the blue for the skys. I was thrilled to see the church first because I think it worked well for the windows. Not perfect but fun to do. now I only have to wait 30 days for the next block to be revealed.

You made a wonderful choice for the windows Marymc. It's a lovely block.

Here is my block. I went to Wal-Mart this morning not planning on buying fabric there I was going to go to the LQS and buy 30s prints for this BOM. But when I was at Wal-Mart I saw the cutest new fabrics. I bought enough for the whole BOM - I think :-)
Thanks for looking.
