Happy New Year Everyone.

Here is a picture of the Snowblossom's block, that I made for January. I really hope you like it & are anxious to make yours too. Start your machines & lets get started!! :D This year is going to be so fun, I can hardly wait to see more pictures.

hobbykat1955 01-01-2012 05:59 AM

Is this the one in Quilterscache?

LindaDeeter 01-01-2012 06:21 AM

If I want to do the BOM, how do I follow along? Where do I go for the BOM patterns and instructions?

hobbykat1955 01-01-2012 06:36 AM

How rude of me...forgot to tell you Sulabug...Love your block and color choice...Also love the theme, think I'll head up to the sewing rm and start

Linda, did you find the instructions yet? Under Block of the Month there will be two topics each month, one will be the link to the directions which you print out your templates from. The other link is marked BOM pictures and that's where we all post our pictures of.

Please ask again if you didn't find what you need.

vivianv, pokerdiva put in a link for you to get this block but just so you know there are two separate threads for this. The thread you are now is for pictures--there is a separate thread for the instructions.

Hope you found it.

Ha ha love your quote! Also love your block!

JeanieG 01-01-2012 03:12 PM

I had trouble printing this pattern to the correct size. Please remember to double check the 1" square to make sure it measures correctly or your block will not come out the correct size! I had to save the diagram to my computer and bring it up in Paint and resize to 100% to get it to print correctly.

SulaBug 01-01-2012 03:13 PM

WOW!! :D The first Snowblossom's block done already!! Way to go.

PokerDiva,
My goodness you are so quick & I Love your block!! :D I hope everyone notices how quickly you finished yours, so they can tell that it is a fairly easy paper pieced block to do. Sorry, it isn't February yet, but before you know it, it will be time to post the second month. Thank you so much for sharing your Beautiful block with all of us today!!
:D :D :D :D

PokerDiva 01-01-2012 03:20 PM

Yes it is a very easy paper pieced pattern. A good one for a beginner.

SulaBug and PokerDiva, I love your blocks! I will print out my pattern and get going on this this week...speedy girls!

mona202 01-01-2012 06:06 PM

Oh it is beautiful! I am a new quilter and this first block already seems like too much but I will try to go to the recommended paper piecing section and practice first and see what I can do. You need to come to my house in Ohio and teach me in person!

mona202 01-01-2012 06:07 PM

It sure is pretty! Glad I have a whole month to try to figure it out!

Mrs B 01-01-2012 08:05 PM

Sulabug, Great first block and I love your fabrics. Pokerdiva Yours is just as pretty. I have saved the templates for a day later in the week after the cool change hits. We are swealtering in 40C heat for the second day, can't even visit my sewing room!!!!
Mona it is easy once you get the hang of it Give it a try and you will be impressed with your work.

Mona, I just learned to Paper Piece last year while doing the Star BOM. This is a video I found so helpful, hope it helps you too! Also If you get the Scribble Pads at the Dollar Store, you can cut the pages down to 8 1/2 X 11. This will go through your printer, and it is very easy to tear the paper off when you are done with the block.

Love it, can hardly wait to get started on mine.

Scakes 01-02-2012 04:07 AM

Beautiful block. I'm not very good at paper piecing but think I'll give it a try. Practice makes pefect - maybe one of these days.

PghPat 01-02-2012 04:25 AM

Yea....I did it!

Now if can manage to get a picture posted.....something I haven't been able to do on the new board yet.

Got a picture on here but it sure doesn't look at all like the actual colors of my block or the pic I uploaded. what am I doing wrong?

gh 01-02-2012 05:10 AM

Wow, you guys are really fast. The blocks look wonderful.
JeanieG thanks for the link on paper piecing. That will come in handy to get me going.

Pam Pottberg 01-02-2012 05:22 AM

How do you start this? I sent a reply last week stating I wanted to do this but have not heard back from anyone on how to do it. HELP.

coconuts 01-02-2012 05:46 AM

I still can't post a picture, followed the directions, but I don't see small icon to click on. Help, please.

rwquilts 01-02-2012 05:48 AM

PghPat, very pretty block! I love them all so far!

PokerDiva 01-02-2012 06:16 AM

Every month on the first of the month go to BOM and find the new pattern. There will be a thread for the pattern and a thread for the pictures. You do not have to sign up. I posted the link for this months pattern earlier in the this thread if you have not found it yet. If you can't find it I will post it again.
