1-January-2014 Block/Project of the Month direction's.

Hello Everyone & HAPPY NEW YEAR!! :D

This year we are going to try a little something new by having not only a Block of the Month, but a Project of the Month. I have volunteered to host the Project of the month for January & here is the pattern that I have selected.

http://seaside-stitches.blogspot.com...-tutorial.html

Our Hope for this Project of the Month will give you something to make each month to build up a stash of possible Christmas gifts that will be done for gift giving to come. Of course you can use your project gifts for any occasion that you might need a gift for.

I hope you are as excited as I am with this new idea. I am anxious to share with you the things that I have made so far.

Sulabug
:D :D :D

That's a great project SulaBug :) I made a few of those fabric boxes, they're fun to make!

:D :D :D :D

I hope so too SulaBug. Last year was a rough year so I had to back out. Let's hope this year will be a better one. I'm going to make a few more baskets, that's for sure :)

ckcowl 01-01-2014 03:01 AM

very cute choice for the first project-I am looking forward to have some nice, productive time in my sewing room *soon* will have to start with one of these. :) I won't have a day off till the 11th though, then will be out of town for an 'over-nighter' so, *i'm glad you are doing a project a month, not one a week. :) this sure makes me look forward to the other projects you find...I really like this one. :)

ckcowl 01-01-2014 03:12 AM

so, I've been looking to see the 'block of the month' too---where do I find that? all the links I've located so far bring me back here to the 'project' but you posted :This year we are going to try a little something new by having not only a Block of the Month, but a Project of the Month.

Jenniky 01-01-2014 07:08 AM

I'm in. What a great idea Sulabug. Now I have to get some of my other projects finished. Wish I had a 48 hour day, LOL

KalamaQuilts 01-01-2014 07:30 AM

Sula, can you change the subject line to add Project of the Month?

rural01 01-01-2014 08:19 AM

This is such a fantastic idea. I can't tell you how excited I am about this. Yay SulaBug. :)

annieshane 01-01-2014 11:28 AM

Thanks for taking this project for the year. I have been gone for a long time due to family illness, etc. I remember that you are very active on this site and an excellent quilter. So looking forward to following along this year.

These baskets are so cute. Our quilt guild made them in Nov using a large quilt block for the bottom. I have been thinking about making my young granddaughter a fabric basket for Easter - this would be a great project to do that. I am ready! Getting several things lined up already, I see.

amh 01-01-2014 01:06 PM

I have been looking for something to join into on the board, and I do believe that I've found it. I'm looking forward to this and more projects.

SulaBug, I'm in! I've had my eye on those fabric boxes for some time now, and this will give me the incentive to finally make one.

So how will this work? We each make one and then post pictures before the end of the month?

mimiknoxtaylor 01-01-2014 02:14 PM

Thanks for hosting this Sulabug. I'll join but as always I'm sure I'll fall behind.
I already had that site & pattern bookmarked & made the little box a couple of months ago & use it as a thread catcher at quilt bee. I think this month I'll make a larger one.

Mariposa 01-01-2014 04:35 PM

Thanks for doing this! Now to find some fun fabrics! :)

conniecz1984 01-01-2014 04:47 PM

I haven't either, so I'm guessing it hasn't been posted yet.

Barbara Lee 01-02-2014 11:13 AM

Sorry I didn't look at this first with the pattern. Sounds like a great idea doing a project a month, maybe I can accomplish a completed project in a month.

JenGaile 01-02-2014 11:18 AM

I will be joining! I have wanted to try this tutorial!

deedum 01-02-2014 11:30 AM

teacherbailey 01-02-2014 11:57 AM

Great idea for those of us who love to make bed-sized quilts, to be able to take a break every so often and make a cute little quickie! Can't wait to see each month's choice! :)

SulaBug 01-02-2014 12:22 PM
