Hello Again,
I will start the picture thread with the block that I have made with the Red & White School House pattern, that meesabell has chosen for us.

I chose not to make it red & white like stated, as I am making all of my house blocks scrappy from my stash!! :D It sorta looks plain, but I am pleased with it.

I will be looking forward to seeing all of your blocks, as you make progress sewing them together. Let's have FUN!!

Good one SulaBug, it's lovely and another to add to your 'already put together quilt'.

Dee G 05-01-2011 02:25 AM

Very cute. Love your tile roof. My grammer school had a red tile roof but, many more rooms :D

I used the PP method-
What a fun and easy one to do!
I added more grass and sky to make it 12".
The village is starting to take shape. I am waiting a bit before deciding how to put them all together. I hope by repeating the different sky fabrics they will all go together in the end.

Another wonderful school house block!! I love your block too. The brick fabric looks really nice & all of your blocks look great together. I also added more sky & grass to make mine 12". I am planning on making them all that size. Nice work.

I love your schoolhouse, the bricks and the "formula" window really set it off. I'm doing the same, using the same sky and one other fabric somewhere in each block to tie them together, but haven't thought about what the setting will look like yet.

fivepaws 05-02-2011 07:05 AM

Thank you. ♥♥

Thanks! They are having their Math class! I found a fat quarter of "school" fabric tucked away. Most of the writing was too large but the math formula sort of fit so I fussy cut it.

I love all the houses ladies! I am getting inspired! This will be a fun block to make!

quilter68 05-02-2011 11:27 AM

It is adorable but needs a doorhandle, do you think?

quilter68 05-02-2011 11:29 AM

IreneV,

This is very sweet. Your fussy-cut applique is right - on.

Irene-Love your landscaping. I need to add some to my school. First I need to find a machine that will do the fun stitches.

Cute schools so far! Anxious to see what the rest of you do!

roseOfsharon 05-02-2011 01:04 PM

Where is the pattern for this? I am behind but wish to keep them in my documents to catch up when I can!

Thanks

OOOH , I have found the link :) via SulaBug's posting! Yay!!

Y'all are so far ahead of me! I just finished my birdhouse for April. Love the school houses. Guess today I'll have to go through my stash & gather things up as I'm headed out of town-once again to babysit grands
