Hello Again,

I will go first, as I already have my block finished. This is my interpretation of the School House. I still feel that I want to add more & if I do, I will repost another picture for everyone to see. Good Luck & have Fun making your new block. I will be anxious to see other pictures, as you finish your blocks.

Hi SulaBug! Your block is so cute. I have some red brick fabric I have been saving for just such a block.

I will make mine when I get home from France. I am here helping my mom who is very ill and don't know when I will be able to come home.

Nicky

My Ohio School House without embellishments yet. I need to make some of my blocks bigger by adding something and one or two are too big already. Do they all have to be the same size? I guess it just depends on how you set them together. I'm not too creative, so I will watch to see what you all do, if you don't mind.

Hold on tight, I will eventually get out of the Outhouse, I promise. LOL

whitepine 09-08-2011 10:48 AM

Looks great Skydiver. Boy, we are slow this month. It's been a week and only two blocks done. :) I'm getting close though. Summer priorities prevail!

Floralfab 09-08-2011 12:38 PM

I like your block Sulabug. I've got mine done just want to add a few odds and ends to it. We are very slow getting this block done this month. Are we running out of steam?? ;-)

Floralfab 09-08-2011 12:40 PM

Skydiver your block looks good!

Love your block skydiver.

My blocks are not all the same size, which is how I wanted it. I will make fill ins when I am putting it together.

skydiver70 09-08-2011 06:08 PM

Thanks for your comments, everyone. I really like all the ones everyone has done on each month's project. I just fail to comment as my computer is so slow at times...athough I don't think as slow as me. LOL

I decided to move the tower to the center, add some steps, and call it a courthouse.

Your block is Great!! I love your idea of changing the tower & calling it a Courthouse. It just amazes me all of the ideas everyone is coming up with!! Good Job. Thank you for sharing.

Hey Whitepine, wonderful idea! It is a perfect courthouse. Way to go, thinking outside the box. That's one of the reasons I love this Board - we get to see things through different eyes.

The Ohio School House Block was "interesting". When I printed it so the 1 inch square was actually 1 inch, the block was not a 12-1/2 inch block. I had to add to the sides and bottom. I have not figured out what the problem is, but I made it work. At least I finished this one before the last week of the month.

The fabric in the windows has the alphabet scattered over it. It is very faint, and the flash would cause it to disappear all together.

You have made a great School House block too!! I love the red color that you made it with & the alphabet fabric in your windows. You didn't do a thing wrong with the size of your block. If you look on the pattern, it will tell you that it is a 10" block. Several blocks are not 12"s, so we have added on to make them the same size. Very nice work.

Great idea Whitepine. Your block looks super.

montanajan 09-10-2011 01:25 PM

I enjoy looking at all of your blocks. I had to drop out - sister's hubby was dying & she had surgery for broken leg & needed help.
Just when I thoought I could get back to sewing, my hubby had a very serious accident in the mountains & has 4 fractured vertebrae, 1 totally shattered, 2 broken ribs, 5 bulging disks, surgery with pins and rods placed, spinal cord damage, learning to walk w/ walker. Our lives are upside down - not getting to ANY sewing/ quilting.

whitepine 09-10-2011 01:53 PM

There will always be time for sewing later. You are definitely needed else where right now. My thoughts are with you and your husband during this healing process which sounds like it's going to be a long and trying one. Keep your eye on that light at the end of the tunnel :!: .

Deecee 09-10-2011 01:55 PM

Montanajan - sending good thoughts and healing prayers to you and hubby.

MisDixie 09-10-2011 02:37 PM

Montanajan, Thoughts and prayers for you, hubby, sister and family. Plenty of time to get back to sewing when all settles down. All in good time. Hugs!

marymc 09-10-2011 03:57 PM

montanajan, Our thoughts and prayers are with you. You are doing exactly what you need to do now.
