"Thank You" JudyG for posting the thread for the new 2012 Block of the Month theme, the Calendar Year. I hope those who are interested will follow this one too!! :D I absolutely loved all the 2011 Star blocks that have been made. I am far behind, but plan to get caught up soon. Happy New Year to all.
:D :D :D :D

Where should I post a picture of my completed quilt? I did it with Quilt as you go and finished it yesterday. This has been fun. I love the way the same block can look so different just by changing the color.

Why don't you just go ahead and post it here. I think everyone who was working on the stars still receives this thread. Or you could start a new thread in pictures if you want to be sure everyone sees it. Either way is fine.

Congratulations on completing your quilt already. I'm anxious to see it.

Here is my quilt done with all of the stars in this BOM. I did this with a Quilt as You Go so every month I finished each block. All I had to do was sew those together and put on a border. I have learned so much doing these stars this past year that I think I am going to have to find another BOM to join.

Michelle, your quilt is gorgeous. And what a clever way to do it by quilting each block each month and having the whole thing ready to completed at the end of the year.

Sulabug is hosting a Calendar block of the month here on the Board. It sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun. I hope you join us.

Here are the links Sulabug has posted for this year's BOM (there is only one this year)and to January's block and the picture thread:

Here's a link to BOM's on some other sites also if you're up to making more than 1 BOM each month:

Michelle, your quilt ended up beautiful. I would never have thought of that color combination and I love it! What did you do to make the lines show up? Is it an embroidery stitch? Great job! Thanks for posting on the other thread too.

Thank you whitepine. Yes that is an embroidery stitch that is called a honeycomb stitch on my viking embroidery machine. I see one that looks the same on my cheap brother machine too. I thought it looked like it would help hold the individual pieces together better than without it. I also used it to sew down the sashing that you end up with when you do this form of "Quilt as you go". I was not, and may nevver be, in the mood to hand sew that much sashing down.
