I finally finished my Aug star, after piecing it twice. I will post pictures next week. I still have one seam that doesn't match up. Anyone else have problems?

Well, I am no help, because I always have problems with seams not matching, lol.

Finally posting my stars for this month. Trying to make 2 distinct looks each month but I think I went too subtle in the color variations on the second one.

Can I ask a question? Are you using the same colors of fabric each month so at the end of the year they all match up?

I am not very good at piecing without paper piecing patterns. I made this star twice and have one piece that still doesn't match up. Looks like I can move it in a little, but wanted to get the picture posted.

Violet, I think it looks great. When you are working with half square triangles, do you make them a little larger and then trim them down? After I learned to do that, my piecing improved tremendously and I'm not afraid of half square triangles anymore.

Corrected Version. I think I will have to embroider something in the middle of the first one. Just got and embroidery machine and this looks like a good cause. Thanks for all your kind comments on the first star. It still lives, just made an improved version. I just have to do September now and I'll be up to date.

I really like it even tho you think it is wrong. Sometimes when you make mistakes they turn out to be a great keeper. Looks great. I have also done that.
