OK. sitting here reading all the comments and had to look at the pics thread too... so I'm going to jump in and try this BOM thing. This will be my first. The church is just calling my name, i think if I like it after adding the next few blocks it may just be my nephews wedding present for an Aug 2011 wedding, somehow starting at a church just sounds right for a wedding quilt/wall-hanging?....?

I have located the quilt that our guild made for the ME State raffle -- it was called 99 houses -- What is a house?? there were barns, bird houses, dog houses, lighthouses, a house on stilts from a member who had livid in the Phillipines.] A house is where something/somebody lives. THIS QUILT IS GORGEOUS! Mim

I have been trying for two days now to get my pattern to EXACTLY 1". The closest I can seem to get is 15/16". Will it really matter to be off by a 16th ? (I can't believe how much paper and ink I've wasted).

I have a question. I would like to play along with the houses bom. What I need to know is if I have to paper piece the blocks that are for paper piecing or can I just piece those blocks? I don't know how to paper piece but I want to obey the "rules".haha. Also can we embellish the blocks as desired or do we have to leave them plain? I will be watching this thread for your answers. Thank you, Patti
