WOW! That's Gorgeous!

DebJ 08-28-2007 07:15 PM

Honestly, haven't we all been there done that when it comes to reverse sewing. I know I have. Sharon "Great Job" your pieced hearts turned out beautiful. I'll be looking forward to seeing your others.

I have been cutting out all the BOM but have only just started putting them together when my machine light burned out. So tomorrow I go to get another and get my machine a checkup.

Country Quilter 08-29-2007 02:45 AM

DebJ....thats why it made me chuckle.....I've "been there done that" MANY times!!!

susan s. 08-29-2007 05:27 AM

This is going to be a perfect block to add to the pink, blue and yellow blocks I'm gathering to make into a small throw for my niece. All but one are BOM blocks. I am getting geared up to catch up with you all and find a way to get pics up. I have a digital movie camera which may work for the job I just have to get to it and figure out how to get the tapes downloaded onto disc. I picked up a DVD Recorder but keep forgetting to get discs and a proper cable. But I will get it done I'm just a bit slow with indoor type tasks in the summer. Since I've been gardening it seems to always be wanting my attention.

Here's mine, with my awful camera. I liked this block alot. Might use it for a larger piece. The pink background is actually a white print.

Country Quilter 08-29-2007 11:57 AM

Very pretty Norah!!! :D

lin 08-29-2007 12:01 PM

That's pretty Norah. I love those roses!! :)

Yvonne 08-29-2007 01:51 PM

Norah, I love the fabric you used in the center of your hearts. Nice.

As for the photo quality, I was just suggesting to my sister that she should try photoing (is that a word?) it outdoors in the sunshine. I'm always looking for a better way. I'll let you know if and when I ever find it! Ha!

Norah 08-29-2007 06:39 PM

Yvonne, the worst of it is that this one was taken outside in the sunshine. I tell you that camera really sucks lollipops.

susan s. 08-30-2007 04:59 AM

I think photoing could just become a word, if it isn't already. Spell-checking doesn't seem to be bothered by it. Keep using it, I'm sure it will catch on! :D . Your blocks still look great even under the influence of a cra..y camera. I'd just put "Get new Camera" on your to do list. And get back to what matters.

Ty 08-30-2007 05:30 AM

Hey Norah,

Your block is very pretty. Loved how you fussy cut the small roses.
Even tho the block background looked pink in your picture, I'll bet the white that it actually is, really makes the pink fabric "pop". Good job.

vicki reno 08-30-2007 08:46 AM

Everytime I look at someone else's project, I always say t myself, "why didn't I think of that" Very clever. I love all the variations on the blocks! Really neat. :-)

susan s. 08-30-2007 11:02 AM

Vicki that sounds so much like me. I'm always saying "Now why didn't I think of that?" :?:

Hi. At the top of the main page is a thread called "BOM rules and the list". If you click on it, it lists all of the BOMs and who submitted them along with all of the links.
The trouble is, you have to know who posted it, hopefully it is the first person at the top of page one. Boo, can you fix that by putting the name of the pattern along with the submitter? This one is Miranda, which you couldn't know because she is also ButtercreamCakeArtist. Boo? We really need you here. So here is the link as it shows in the posting.

and here is the real link

Boo, and everyone, this is a real problem, for someone who does not know what is going on, to follow. Isn't there an easier way to at least describe the links and make them easier to get?

Oh,my gosh thank you I am newer to the site and seem to spend hours here everytime I visit, but there is so many hidden suprises. It probably would have taken me a long time to find that.

ShellyQ 08-31-2007 02:50 AM

Hey Norah, make that 2 days  , I also forgot that August has 31 days not 30. I think I might need to get more sleep :?

quiltgrl 08-31-2007 04:33 AM

Catching up... slowly! I'm planning to turn this little stash of blocks into a quiltlet & then start a new batch ... maybe backwards! :-)

It really is fun seeing the variety that comes from a single pattern. It has ever been so, and probably always shall be. Quilters are soooooo cool!

all are 6-inch blocks, so it will be a small quilt!

Marcella 09-07-2007 04:07 PM

HaHa! Thanks, you guys! Better late than never, huh? I was just over looking at Blackford's Beauty blocks. Awed all over again and chuckling at Yvonne's plaid points issues.

I could post my block-a-week B.B.B (Blackford's Beauty Block), eh? Or is that cheating? :-)

annmarie 09-07-2007 06:21 PM

Those blocks are GRRRREAT!!![b]That is going to be one awesome quilt.

Love that block!! and that is going to be a very cute quilt!! I guess I'll have to go and print off the instructions and make one!!! You women are really bad at tempting!!!!

annmarie 09-08-2007 08:38 AM

I love your block Patrice! Great color choices. And it is so cool when you put everyone's together. Quilt candy!!!!

After I put it together I kind of wish I hadn't used the love fabric. It just seems a little to busy making it harder to see the hearts I think.

Pieced hearts, I like the pattern.

quiltgrl 09-28-2007 05:22 PM

I think it's totally awesome!!! I love it like that!!

lin 09-28-2007 07:42 PM

I agree with quiltgrl Deb. I think it's intriguing to have one fabric sorta "shadow" another and blur the lines a little. More mystery there! :D I think it's just lovely the way you made it.

susan s. 09-29-2007 01:02 PM

No Deb I do not think it's too busy. The red heart's do Pop! right on out of the block. What size is the block though. My hearts alone were 6" X6" so ther had no room to add Intersecting latice. Idid something else that looks cool I thinkl  You all will see soon. I've had to make two trips to Wallyworld already ove what began as a $20.0 camera and is up to two trips and $30.00. I forgot the batteries and need to make a third trip. :?

Those colors are sooo pretty and cheerful. I am just itching to go home and sew. Its not real busy now,at work, too cold, for most construction projects and I want to sew so bad!

I’m making a dolly quilt for the granddaughter of a friend at work. She’s turning three next month and since she got the dolly bed for Christmas, the quilt is in order. She likes going to Church, her favorite color is purple, and she loves her doll. I made it a little bigger than the bed so she can wrap it around the doll.

I liked this block ever since it was posted but didn’t know what to do with it, so I took the liberty of lifting some of its components for this quilt. Just thought you all might get a kick out of it. Still unsure of how to quilt it, but I’ll figure something out eventually.
