Well, I wasn't going to work on this today but after seeing the block and liking it I went in and pulled out a few fabrics and got it done....I couldn't find a better red print but actually I kind of like the one I used! LOL

thanks all...the picture does make it look maroon but it really is a nice bright red....I will try to take another photo of it tomorrow in the sunlight...I had the shades in here pulled today so maybe thats why it came out so dark

It was very hot today while I did this AC broke down (98 inside the house) block got wash as I sewing

Here's mine. I changed it a wee bit :) . Challenged myself to use the heart shape but make it a wee bit more masculine, to suit grandson. Had alot of fun having a play. Below that are the rest of my blocks that I've caught up with that haven't been posted elssewhere.

I know it poss dosen't belong here but I couldn't resist sharing this with you. I think grandson may have some competition for his quilt. Cheeky madame isn't she :lol:

all those blocks are smashing, to say the least!!! and the fabrics are gorgeous, too. i am soooooo gonna reverse-engineer and steal a couple of those blocks. (ok?)

Finally! It's a block! I was beginning to think I'd never get around to this block. Visitors, rearranging sewing room, jury duty... And look, it's only the 14th. I got this one out and am ready for the next block! Yea!!!
I was inspired by the other blocks shared to try some little changes to this block. I tihnk I like the blocks with more color best. But this is to be a pink quilt and so it shall be!

It looks great like the center block. All your PINK blocks look great.

Wow, love your variation on the heart block. I really like the way you've got the sashing strips merging with one another at the center, That really teases the eye, Nice one :thumbup:

What a thing for you to say! Your quilts are beautiful! I expecially love that butterfly quilt. Now, go wash your mouth out and then show us some more of your beautiful quilts! They do not "muddle"! Ha!

Why is it that we're never happy with our own work? Do we ever step back and look at what we've made and say, "Wow!" I think we all need to start thinking about doing that more. Trust me, I look at my work and say, "What was I thinking?" Oh, well. Onward!

I'm a little slow on the uptake, but I just now saw your georgous blocks. Your fabric and color choices are wonderful. I'm so jealous of your talent to pick out such vivid colors and make them work so wonderfully together. This is gonna be one "popping" quilt. Can't wait to see the entire top put together.

Annemarie: I liked the colors in your block so much I made mine somewhat similar. I appliqued my block on the back of a denim shirt and have had so many positive comments on it. I am just finishing 3 more blocks to take on vacation as "sister gifts". I'll let them furnish the shirts! :D
