I love the idea of a virtual R&R. I'm way too far behind on everything right now!

Haven't heard that song for years. I've only got a couple of projects that I'm not actively working on but I do have leftover pieces from an earlier kaliedscope and SCRAPS!!! They just keep growing! I've done a couple scrap tops and am using the ones I can in the PC. Oh, oh....I just remember the FWQ so my PUP's are at 4.

Well, Boy's Playmate was my very first paper pieced block and today I finally got back to Broken Heart to get it finished! Lots of pieces for sure!!

oksewglad 07-09-2012 03:50 PM

Very nicely done, Carrie! I have some of the light background as well, and the dark but in a brown rather than the rust. Yes we will get finished!!

QuiltE 07-09-2012 07:03 PM

Nicely done, CarrieM!

dublb 07-09-2012 07:26 PM

Oh, your Broken Heart is just lovely!

Anael 07-09-2012 11:33 PM

Beautiful Broken Heart carriem!

gardnergal970 07-10-2012 04:40 AM

Carrie I really like your block and your stick-to-it-ivness. Just wait. Like the tortoise and the hare, you will probably finish first!

Great blocks as usual. I have decided to join in the fun. Better late than never, right QuiltE? So far, I have done Alabama and Boy's Playmate.

I won't be doing all the blocks and will probably be skipping quite a few and coming back to them towards the end when I decide how many I need and what colour combinations are missing.
Yes, those are spider web batiks. All the blocks will be made form Halloween batiks, with the sage as my constant.

Anael 04-06-2014 12:49 PM

And another great spooky PC block! I love those Halloween batiks :)

works4me 04-06-2014 03:00 PM

Thanks. I love the blue. Found it on Etsy then discovered the matching sage on-line. Then found another one ...

oksewglad 04-06-2014 03:17 PM

Nice centering of the web! What inspired you to use these fabrics?

works4me 04-07-2014 05:30 AM

Hi oksewglad - Thanks, I enjoy fussy cutting. I am a Halloween freak and recently found some Halloween batiks. With these fabrics I can combine my love of all things Halloween without making too many people cringe with in-your-face spooky fabrics. :)

QuiltE 04-07-2014 05:40 AM

Spooktacular!!!!!!!!!!
Those two really fit well together and love how the batiks are giving them a glow.

**cheers** W4Me is on THE Trail! :D:D:D

Anael 04-07-2014 06:50 AM

QuiltE, do you think she will join us on the DJ trail as well?

Thanks QuiltE.

I can say with the utmost confidence that a DJ is never in my future. Either a FWS or PC was always niggling in the background because I bought the books. Time, some interesting batiks, and QuiltE's encouragement made my decision to go for it. Notice that I chose PC with its larger blocks.

Anael 04-07-2014 11:53 AM

Well, after you've finished the FW you're used to smaller blocks :D :D

Oh W4M I like it. I usually don't like anything that has ta do w/Halloween. These batiks are so refreshin'. I just love your Boy's Playmate.

QuiltE 04-08-2014 05:07 AM

DublB ... just goes to show the importance to keeping an open mind. Sometimes it's not that we don't like something, but that we haven't found it in a way that speaks to us! Besides, who can't like batiks?

With this, W4Me is creating a sure fire winner!

works4me 04-08-2014 05:41 AM

Thanks dublb - The Halloween batiks are sure a lot different from my other Halloween fabrics. Which means they certainly play together differently.

QuiltE - Aw shucks. Thanks. I've never really looked at the world the same as others. No kidding. :) At the moment, I am looking at doing the twin sized quilt. If I'm having too much fun, and can find more batiks (hear that manufacturers?) it may grow to a queen size.

dublb 04-08-2014 02:12 PM

Oh yeah! I do like batiks! :)
