QNSue ... I'm looking forward to seeing this wedding ring quilt without circles!

CarrieM ... I think your friend and I were thinking much alike ... turkey tracks, drunken bird! I never thought of it as being a camouflage stitch, just a lovely change

JeanieG .. have a good trip with lots of quilty side-trips!

Yooooohoooooooo OKSGlad ... anyone seen her? or is she still eating candy floss and riding the ferris wheel at the Fair? :)

Never fear I'm still here!! Man I didn't get any cotton candy this year--a personal favorite. I shlepped ribeye sandwiches for the 4-H alumni on Friday night. Kids left on Sat am with little 2 1/2 yo saying, "Go back to farm. See Gma/Gpa Cow" She'll be ready for her trip next year!
Here's GS with his dog. Bandit chewed through his leash during the dog obedience--yikes! But made up for it during the agility trial winning a Reserve Champion ribbon for GS.

Good for Bandit and your GS. When I came home to Iowa from the crossroads of NM (Las Cruses, the three crosses) I had a pup named Bandit who unfortunately "disappeared" from my GM's farm. So the picture brought the memory to mind.

DH woke up Sunday morning by his dogs "yep" getting into the young pullets in the A-frame; he gave up on retraining their bad habit, and saved 22 of the 28 pullets by destroying his two dogs. It was a sad morning, but the chicks are no longer threatened by the dogs....just raccoons. Neighbor has bagged one bull 'coon and planned on eliminating the sow 'coon last night. Never count your chick, duck or turkey until its on the table for Thanksgiving. BM old saying, "Those that have can lose, those that don't have cannot lose" comes to mind.

The chains of love, wedding ring without curves, is giving me troubles. I was Queen of the Rippin' Mamas yesterday, but got the start of setting it together right...now I am really behind on my schedule of finishing it. With its 72 rings, I have two done...block pieces are all sewn together, so I am just putting it all together and it should move faster. But lower back muscles are complaining of bending over the table to cut the cloth, and has me in pain. Life. Its not stopping me, just slowing me down.

OKSGlad ... oh oh I think Bandit is living up to his name, both for chewing his leash ... and for winning the agility. Those banditos need to get away fast!! Yea for a Reserve win! I'm sure you were SO proud of all the Grands at the Fair and so excited to have the ones from afar for everyone to see. Now you've left out the Quilt Judge's report .... and perhaps pics?

QNSue ... oh dear .. how sad about the chickens and then the dogs. And then frustrations with the quilt and your back troubling you. When I have times like that, I know it's best for me to walk away for a day (or more), as I'll surely make more mistakes. So walk away, my dear ... for a much needed break and after your back has settled and mind clears. Maybe sit a spell? (as though you would sit still for a bit???) :D
