Love it , Honchey!!! Great colors and I like both blocks.New Jersey!
And the pine tree. The old 50-state song kept running through my mind, "What did Del-a-ware???She wore a New Jersey!! |
Oh wow!! Great blocks both of you. Love the bright colors "yinz" used. I can't believe it's week 32!!
|
Honchey - I love the colors ya used! Those chickens just make the yellow pop, or is it the other way, the chickens are poppin'? Your Pine tree is very nice! I like it! I don't see no puckers! (I know bad english. Shhh don't tell my DD. ;) )
QNS - Ya know how I feel about your colors! They are perfect! It looks like fireworks ta me! Your pine is awesome also! |
Great blocks Honchey and QNS! I've got mine cut out, so just have to get sewing. So glad I got the backlog caught up. Now if I could only get caught up on the Calendar BOM, and my other BOM I'd be a happy camper! I'll get there yet!

Greay blocks Honchey and QNS, love the fireworks:thumbup:
Only one blocks for me so far this week, I spend all weekend trying to finish a quilt, will post photos tomorrow |
Wish I could spell:p GREATTTTT blocks everyone
|
Honchey, your blocks brought a smile to my face. What a flock of chickens!
QNSue...and then yours are filled with fireworks. Mirabelle, your spelling is fine, it's the fingers that get mixed up especially when they've been as busy as yiu're. Your block really sets off a beautiful print. Great job all of you and such welcome eye candy with my coffee. I've been working of s QAYG project with JenniKy over in the challenge section but have caught up to where she is so today I'll start cutting and see now far I get. |
Merabelle - That block will complement your quilt! It's darlin'!

Mirab, love the blue and white-very pretty. QNS & Honchey have such cheery blocks; mine this week are sort of blah.

Your blocks came out super Jan. I've got Norway Pine done, and just have to sew the 4 parts of New Jersey together and I am done too. Will try to post later today! Finally all caught up with my PC blocks.
|
Oh Jan, I like 'em. I'm quit sure when ya git 'em in your quilt they will balance out!:)
|
JanR they are well done and keep good company with your bright ones. Alas, mine are still waiting to be cut out. My two youngest DGD'S have birthdays in October and I needed to make 6 more schoolhouses for one of their quilts. When I was first given that block as an assignment in a M&M class I groaned. I had never liked that kind of quilt. After I made my first 6 blocks, I've completely fallen in love with it. Now I just have to quilt them. One is not sashed so I will do it QAYG with JenniKy and the other will just have to be done the usual way.
|
Jan, I like your blocks...especially Norway Pine. I can picture myself underneath that tree looking up at the midnite sky with all the stars twinkling above me... really pretty siight!!! I'm cutting my fabric for Mountain Maze..eversince I found out that the "maze" doesn't mean "Corn" it really screwed me up :).....H.

Oh my such fantastic blocks, everyone. Honchey--chickens are delightful!
It seems the NJ block is the finer of these two selections. The NP pattern looks like other blocks we've done. |

Beautiful blocks JanRN and JeanieG, here is my last block for this week hot off the machine:D
|
Jeanie - Those are lovely! Awesome points & your strips line up just 'bout near perfect.
Mirabelle - Ahhh more roses! |
Jeanie, great blocks. Love the green fabric in Norway Pine and yes, your stripes do line up perfectly.
Mirab, your blocks are so soft and pretty; your quilt will be so relaxing and romantic. Thanks for all the compliments--you guys do keep me motivated!! |
Mirabelle and Jeanie....both of your blocks are well done and will have a happy home in your quilts. I love to watch what you trailblazers do and will be catching up.
|
Everyone has done a great job on these blocks. I've been busy so haven't done much sewing or posting this week! Maybe next week I will be home a little more. :)

Here's my blocks. I didn't add the borders since I will be using some of these blocks as QAYG without sashing. |
Such pretty blocks, GGal. I've been trying to select fabrics for these, the NJ especially. I really like the soft swirls in the light blue and make take a cue from you and find a swirly fabric to use. I just noticed the soft curve in the trunk of the NWP block--Simple and dramatic.
|
I'm with oksewglad, I love that swirly blue fabric - gorgeous! Great blocks GGal!
|
What fabric line are you using? I love it!
|
GG - They are lovely! Just the right amount o' movement & contrast.
|
Great blocks, Ggal. I love the fabrics you chose--lots of movement in both blocks.

Thanks to the rest if your for your kind compliments. OkSewGlad, you give such good feedback with the details you include. I usually can tell when things work together but I can't analyze it the way you do. |
Aw shucks, you make me blush!

New Jersey...this one took some thinking to get in the right order....and to sew on the right line!! Really like the color combo.
|
Carriem & GGal, Great blocks, NJ looks simple enough to do until you turn one section around and sew the wrong piece of fabric ....GGal your block reminds me of the ocean waves at the NJ beach which is only 16 miles from my home :)...
|
Your time was well spent, Carrie. You tamed the floral with a piece that reads solid and showed off the pretty flowers in the brown. Thanks for sharing all your pretty blocks today.
|
Oh very pretty block Carrie, and I agree, it was harder than it looks!
|
It came out beautiful!
|
WOW! .... as always so many different looks, with each choice of fabrics.
Especially love Honchey's exploding chickens .... and I'm not kidding, I really do like the look it gives!!! Great job on the directions of each on-point side. All are great ... as I said, such different looks and all winners! |

Norway Pine...I decided to go with a brown trunk instead of making it all one color like in the book.
|
Now that's durn near perfect.
|
Another winner Carrie. I've got fabrics selected and went with a brown trunk too. I think it gives the block more definition rather than just a block with green triangles.

After all, a tree has a brown trunk! :) Perfectly Pointy ... and look at that dark blue night sky surrounding it ... works great! Looks like you had a very productive retreat! |
