GGal your block came up and "Oooh" was my initial reaction and then I read the posts and they all have the same reaction--The aqua draws you into the center and then bursts (a perfect word for it) out to the corners. Fantastic.
Like you I try to trim to sizes as I go. In the long run it saves time. |
Glad that i'm no different ... I saw that burst in GGal's block too! :)
Beautiful! And what an array of American patriotism and some familiar fabrics showing up again!! :) |

?Sub? a different block for New York...many of us are when we want too...that carries your blues that you like. I love them; I love mirabelle's roses. I am glad you are back with us, GrannyQ.

This one is darlin'. I love the simplicity o' this block. It'll probably be one o' the first blocks I do when I start back makin' 'em.
I'm still campaignin' ta git ya ta join the swap. It'd be so neat ta have another block from Iowa. |

Your blocks are wonderful as always. I did North Star, y seams and all. I made sure there were no stitches in the seam allowances and took my time and I am really pleased with 3 out of the 4 seams. #4 is fine, too.
The fabric is my batty batik. I was originally thinking of using it for sashings and/or borders or backing but I wasn't as crazy about the fabric once I saw it in person. I must say, it really shines in this block. That tells me I like it better in small doses. |
W4Me ... Batty Batik, so perfect for your quilt .... and another fine block, for your collection!
Maybe not for this quilt in large quantities .... but I still see it as a nice en masse fabric that would work wonderfully in a different quilt pattern! :):) |
