Yes, a beautiful big red pig, Honchey!! Of course I had to to different:Sand trap for golfers!! Little did the golfers know that Lady A's hoard of cats had been there the night before, and when the unsuspecting golfer swung his/her club, a shower of things came down on them...that was not sand!!

And the ribbons is a ribbon-road map of the USA Route 66:Missouri to Texas and through Oklahoma tepee country. Eagles are flying high...as emblems of the USA.

You guys are good! Love the red & pink, Anne. And QNS great colorful blocks.

Here are mine; I substituted Tulips for Anael instead of Ribbons (must have had some y-seams)

carriem 09-11-2012 05:46 PM

So far so good on the finished blocks. :) They all look great. I have my machine and everything all packed and ready to go to my retreat so no sewing until Thursday for me.

QuiltingNinaSue 09-11-2012 06:13 PM

That give us something to look forward to, CarrieM. Love your colorful blocks, JanRN.

Honchey 09-11-2012 06:18 PM

I haven't looked at blocks for so long and WOW, these are sure purdy to see!

Honchey ... great Little Piggy! love the vibrancy.

QNSue ... Looks like that Piggy was playing in a mud puddle too. Great golf story. Terrific fussy cuts there for the Ribbon block, and look at those eagles flying along the highway

JanRN ... Those are ever so elegantly classic! Lovely indeed!!!!!

Hope you have a wonderful time on your retreat dublb and make some progess on your PC blocks.

QuiltE 09-12-2012 04:54 AM

MiraB ... And more of your lovelies indeed!

No, not really in the saddle ... just enjoying the view right now. Work has been and will continue to be whack-o for awhile! In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy some virtual quilting with you ladies ... and be green with envy with MiraB and DublB heading off for their retreats!

MiraB ... no cell reception isn't such a bad thing ... a true retreat without electronic leashes!!!!!!!! :)

ENJOY your getaways ladies! :)

Wednesday with all the new blocks...I love it! Honchey, great way to corral the piggy with some goodies to eat. QNSue, and then your "raisins" for the golfers...how do you think up your stories? Jan, what beautiful balance in your blocks and the tulip is such a nice remembrance for Anael. Mirabelle, with your fabrics, the piggy tail is completely disguised. I actually have been on a piecing binge and did this weeks blocks plus about 12 FWS blocks. I can't decide what to take on the retreat tomorrow but I cased the shop last Thursday and there is some fabric there that I need for DGS's quilt so that is probably what I will work on. I should be quilting.... My ribbons are a little wonky. Oh well, y seams conquered me this time.

Anael 09-12-2012 05:36 AM

Wow such gorgeous blocks!

Jan, thanks so much, my own block :D :D That's so lovely, now you will remember me for ever :D

I have nothing to show as I didn't do these blocks (yet). I still don't know if I will make them all or not.

QuiltE 09-12-2012 05:37 AM

Nice pair there GGal ... put your sashing on the Ribbons, and all will be hidden! Here's to a great retreat ... me-thinks this is the one with CarrieM and Jenniky?

janRN 09-12-2012 08:26 AM

Yay, Ggal---you did the y seams. And you did them well. Love both your blocks and color combos.

carriem 09-12-2012 08:59 AM

Mirabelle--pretty blocks.

QE--Yes, the retreat Ggal is going to is the one I am leaving for tonight. It doesn't actually start until tomorrow evening, but we wanted to do some shop hopping before check-in. Crystal and I are driving over together.

Ggal--You have made some great progress this week! Looking forward to meeting you too. :)

School is done for the week...since I'll be gone. Kids are pretty happy about that. We'll have some catch up to do next week...great thing about homeschooling!

QuiltE 09-12-2012 11:09 AM

Yes ... I bet the kids like to see Mom head off to retreats!!!!!!! :)
Do you leave them homework? Mean Mommy!! :D

oksewglad 09-12-2012 03:26 PM

Remember I told in another Pony thread I was going to donate some quilts to a Day Care Centre? I got some pictures today and I would love to share them with you. Each of the ladies has picked the quilt she likes most and they all are very happy with them as you can see ;)

QuiltingNinaSue 09-13-2012 07:37 AM

Wonderful. You can see how each treasures your gift...and that's what our gifted is all about!! Lovely quilts, quite colorful, and it will brighten up their life.

janRN 09-13-2012 08:26 AM

Bless you, Anael. You have certainly brightened the lives of your quilt recipients. After spending the past few months at a rehab facility/nursing home before my mother passed, I know how important that can be. I'm sure they absolutely love them.

JeanieG 09-13-2012 08:35 AM

Awww Anael what precious photos these are! You made those people so happy! What a wonderful gift!

oksewglad 09-13-2012 01:22 PM

Oh thanks for sharing the photos! How lovely to see the gift with the recipient.

Jeanie..I like your blocks. Both the horse and geese look content with their surroundings.

Honchey 09-16-2012 08:13 AM

JeanieG, it's so nice to see the fabrics shared between us...I can just imagine the geese chasing the piggies...

carriem 09-16-2012 08:20 AM

Anael--those people look VERY happy with their new quilts. What a great idea to help provide so many!!

Jeanie--your blocks look great. Love the orange...been drawn to orange fabrics a lot here lately. :)

oksewglad 09-16-2012 08:56 AM

Oh the gaggle of geese! At first thought it was a QNS block.:) Color combos are spot on.

Termi 09-16-2012 09:10 AM

JeanieG ... I went to find that same goose fabric today for a different block ... and where oh where is it? Not where it's supposed to be! :D

Four Little Piggy Tails here ... and one Pig ... now how could that be?
As the Missouri Bluebird watches on!

Bossie and Miss Kitty joins the Horse ....

And being that we watched QNSue's Chicks grow last summer, they needed a block. I think she needs a Lambykins this year on her farm. And a Scotty Dog, somewhat misplaced on a farm!!

janRN 03-02-2013 06:14 PM

Oh, QE, your blocks make me smile. I love them. You did such a good job on those animal blocks; I know they're not the easiest blocks to make. These will really add so much fun and color to your PC quilt.

dublb 03-02-2013 06:14 PM

Oh, QE! Your quilt is gonna be just too fun (& beautiful!!)

QuiltE 03-02-2013 09:46 PM

Thanks Ladies!

JanRN ... they weren't that hard to do ... just paint by numbers and follow the dot! The bird did require some patience ... for those itty-bitty toes, legs and feathers. It's the 2nd cow I made. The first wasn't as good a looking holstein as this ol' dairy farmer likes, so I re-worked the pattern.

JeanieG 03-02-2013 10:28 PM

All those animals are sew cute, QuiltE. What a lot of work, but so worth while!

Thanks JeanieG ... I'm hoping they will look OK in the mix, and not look as though they are out of place.
