Oh my, all you talented people! To think I read how to do this, and decided it was too complicated. Maybe I should take a class, if one is offered at one of the quilt stores around here. That is gorgeous Mirabelle!

I've got the obw book . This is another case o' me orderin' my fabric before I got the book. My fabric only has 4 repeats. :( I've been way too busy w/other things ta worry about it. I'll do it some day.:)

Mirabelle--I have several of the Shimmer line. Haven't bought the border print yet, since I am not sure how much I will need. Since I work at the shop once a week, I keep an eye on it to make sure it isn't gone when I need it. :) How does the "Micro Stitch basting tool" for for pinning layers together? I looked it up and see how it works in general, but for the layers, how do you get it lined up just right before "basting"? Looks like it could make life easier.

Dublb--if you have 4 repeats, you can do a "4-patch" kaleidoscope like I did with the butterflies. You just stack the 4 repeats and decide what size squares you want (remembering that you put 4 together, so what size block?). You can put them in the middle of "star" blocks or sash and join. I don't mind cutting out triangles, but it sure went quick when I did those few blocks the other day! The larger blocks use 3 1/2" squares and the smaller ones are 2 1/2" squares. I miss cut one of each size so a couple are smaller.

Bev, see if the fabric repeats sideways, not only the length, you may have 8 repeats?

LOVELY quilts ladies, personaly LOVE these types, I have done several :D

My second quilt from the One Block Wonder book which is a variation of stack and whack. I still have some left over half blocks to make a scrappy quilt out of but it hasn't called my name recently. Beautiful blocks, Carrie and QNSue. And Mirabelle, your star quilt is breath taking. I love what you do with pinks!

Well Duh, I didn't even think that far. :o:D I might even think about grabbin' it & takin' it ta my retreat. (I always take way too much, & usually don't even touch half o' it. Ya'll are wonderful!

Catching up here!

Carolyn ... glad you came to the rescue and were able to let all know that your DearSisHonchey was OK. I'd been worried about her and being out of town for a spell, didn't know all that time! :)

Honchey ... Thankfully you are OK and realize how lucky you were compared to many others. So how did the GFG piecing go? I think it's time you show us a picture of your progress!!! Think of the memories you will have of sewing by the candlelight despite the storm.

Carrie ... elegance for sure, in those test blocks. Are they destined for a specific quilt pattern? Or just to give some blocks for customers to see how the fabric works up? They really are lovely. Your 4PP is going to be stunning! Good job on your part to camouflage the butterflies your DH does not want!

JanRN ... great job on your first HQ16 quilting! With each project you'll improve your comfort with the new machine and will soon be turning out amazing work. I just know you will!!

DublB ... What Carrie has done is a 4PP (Four Patch Posey). As explained, you just layer the four and cut the blocks. I didn't have a pattern, and just figured it out from looking at a sample at the store. So use the fabric you have and you'll be surprised what you turn out. Like the OBWs it's so much fun ... and addicting!

QNSue ... your Flamingo SAW is beautiful! I really like the kaleido-stars on the green background

MiraB ... Everytime I see that quilt, I fall in love with it again. I too am intrigued about the tool you used for the layering process ... please do tell us more1!! I'm all for anything that makes a job easier. :)

It's good to be back, though I head out again on Sunday for a few days.
Oh ... I'm no better than everyone else!
