Oh, Wow! Carrie, those are lovely!!! I like the way you used 2 different ways to do 'em.

Those are lovely CarrieM ... a real girly-girl quilt for the first one!! And so pretty the mix of colours and fabrics for the 2nd one. Could you show us a pic of the whole quilt? I'd really like to get a look at how it all looks for the full top. It's a Beauty! Yes, I'd be interested in the instructions .... I foresee me trying the techniques on some table runners before I try anything big.

QuiltE--I don't have the 2nd one done yet. The blocks are all done and even the quilting, but I haven't finished the QAYG or added borders. This is a quilt I work on between projects before I feel like starting all over again...so it could be together in the next couple weeks. :) If I have a goal (or someone that wants to see it), that is good motivation!

I got to thinking maybe I did save the page instead of just print the directions and I even found them on the QB site...

Carrie...In a nick of time...I'm just ready to assemble my D9P and you method A will fill the bill. A little different than what I've done and it looks like it turns out really neat. Now a trip to the LQS to get my stripping and backing fabric and get started. I really want to get this one off of my design wall so I can finish up my Civil War quilt. I'll use the same method for it but I need to finish a couple more blocks so I can get it layer out and start putting it together. I have the backing for that one but will need to figure out the stips. It has Irish Chain for the setting blocks so the strip will have to be very unnoticeable. THANK YOU, CARRIE!!!!:):):):)

Thank You Carrie! I've always wondered about that method.

Carrie, thanks for sharing the QAYG projects. Fabrics are so different from what we've been seeing on the PC trail. Nice. Both are delightful.

Thanks for all the compliments. The pink quilt is for a good friend of mine. The purple/oriental fabric is just something I liked and bought then found a pattern to use with it...I don't usually do that, but I am really happy with it. It will just be another throw for in the living room unless I find I need a gift shortly after it is finished. :)

Let me know if you have any questions about the QAYG...I have done the 1st way MANY times. Not sure how well I can describe it in words, but could always take some step by step pictures if needed.

CarrieM ... we'll look forward to seeing the whole thing, when you get to that point! Thanks for the link ... I remember seeing it from before. I like the looks of it ... it looks like it might be difficult to keep everything squared and straight as you join it all together, so that all the lines are lined up.

Hey that is my quilt!!! I have the bestest friend in the whole wide world!!! She made this for me and I just love the sparkles on it. Carrie is an amazing quilter and teacher! You should see the bag she made for me to carry my quilt to retreats in it too rocks:) I am just catching up on all the old postings and found this. Hope you all enjoyed her quilting skills as much as I do.

This is the quilt I was doing QAYG with this week. I just got the binding done tonight and now am washing. It is another D9P. It is either a large throw or a small twin. :)

I sew the rows together, sandwiching top/bat/back...when two rows are together I mark and quilt big X's through each block then add the last row and quilt those...I add one border at a time...see picture with backing showing to see the quilting a little better. Yes, the pink sashing and what was my center block before cutting has silver sparkles!

Welcome CWessley ... I'm sure it doubles your delight to see your quilt sparkling here amidst our thread! We'd be thrilled to have you join Carrie (and us) along these dusty ol' trails, and make a PC quilt too!
