Here are my blocks for this week, I think Girl's Joy is a bit dramatic.
Congratulations QNS on finishing your FWS can't wait to see a finished pic, wonderful blocks as always this week. JanieW what a delicate floral print you have matched with Fusions, absolutely gorgeous. |
Again, QNSue ... so good to hear the stories! And another proof as to why you need to clip these notes and put them together for your DGS. Even if they are just snippets and disjointed, they tell some important family stories to be held into the future.
JanieW and MiraB ... all are so fresh and crisp and perfectly pieced. Yes, MiraB, that one has come out a little dramatic, though I'm sure it'll blend in and hardly be noticed for that once all are together. |

QNSue..Your blocks are so very unique. I love how you adapt it to your fabric to tell your story. Great work. Also congratulations on finishing your FWQ. I can't wait to see it.
JanieW...The prints in your quilt are perfect. They don't overpower the pattern of the block like mine sometimes do. I'm learning so much by just observing how you all use your fabrics. Mirabelle...So brave with the stripes but what a great job. Maybe dramatic but very well done. Here are mine for the week. |
GGal, don't underestimate how lovely yours are. The one this week is soft and subtle, the other has punch and life and excitement to it. They play off each other and work well. And oh so square and pointy! I too am like you and love to learn as I see others doing the same blocks. I think we get so much more benefit by doing the same project together and comparing the results!
|
Great blocks everyone! I've got mine cut out, just need to get them sewn together.
WTG QNS on finishing your FWS Quilt. Every time I finish a quilt I am so delighted! |
More great blocks again this week! Really like the fabrics and contrast in them all.
I will be posting my new ones (old for most of you) tonight. I have 17 done now, so will need to get a picture of those all together and post on the "15" thread... |
I love love all your pictures, fabrics, blocks and comments. What a fun friendly bunch you are!

All of this weeks blocks are amazing, same block and such different looks.
QuiltingNinaSue, what beautiful fabrics in GJ. Love the horses, they look like drawings. Great combination of fabrics in GF. Nice saddle. JanieW, oh how cute and beautiful both blocks are! Love the blue, the bees and the cowboy scatter fabric. Great job on both. mirabelle, great job on both blocks, love your fabric choices. How lovely they look together. gardnergal970, your GJ looks like marble, really neat! love the contrast in GF and the large print. deranged_damsel, Nice job on both, beautiful blues!! I was able to spend more time in the sewing room this week. Here they are. Hope the pict doesn't come out sideways. GJ came out a little wild looking. |
Termi ... those aren't wild .. they are totally country! Reminds me of Square Dance dresses!!!!!! And look at those red and blue bananas that have been created amidst all the triangles!! Great interpretation!

Oh, this is so much fun to see all the 'eye' candy every day....only I think its "ewe" candy....you make it all possible by contributing the comments and the block photos....thanks to QB for letting communicate on the pony trail and Honchey for leading the trail, blazing our way through PC....
Yes, life throws its curves at us; but we are stronger with our faith and our friends because we know we have each other pulling for us and life looks a little brighter. No matter the age group or nationality, we share compassion and concerns, joys and sorrows together on this journey...so hit those saddles, PC quilters, in your own ways...together we shall overcome our troubles...and smile again. |

What beautiful blocks everyone has made--I couldn't pick a favorite if I tried. It's so amazing what color and placement of fabric does--same block, different result. I'm off to learn how to quilt on my friend's new Queen Gracie frame (I think that's what it's called); let's see if an old dog can learn new tricks LOL!!

grannyQ, great looking blocks! Beautiful shade of yellow and nice contrast in both.
JanRN, oh, the blue is so pretty, reminds me of water, the Caribbean perhaps? Love the color combo of green and yellow, great job on both! |
Wonderful "eye' Or "ewe" candy. Love all the colors and the blocks. Any "orphan" block is welcome this way. Lovely blue and yellow; love the yellow roses.
|
Nice Job!!!
|
First I woul like to thank everyone for their comments on my blocks. Everyones look so different, with so many different fabrics.
QNS--really enjoy all of your farm stories, I agree with QE, you should put them in a booklet to go with the quilt. Janie--I really love your blue fabric in Girls Joy--as you probably know I really like blue. Mirabelle--Very pretty rose fabric you have been using. Will really be a very pretty quilt. Ggal--very pretty blocks and the sashing you are using, I haven't decided what I will be using. DD--The barbed wire fabric is really nice in your blocks, but I sure didn't care about catching my clothes in the real fencing, I used to help my DH with all the fencing we had to do, to keep the sheep in where the belonged they always seemed to find all the holes to get out. |
Termi, your farm block will really set your quilt off.
Jan, I see you are also using blue in some of your blocks. |
GrannyQ ... love the addition of some butter along with the blue and white/cream staples!
JanRN ... They couldn't be nicer! How lucky for you that your friend lets you come over and play with Gracie! |
Great blocks Jan, and having fun learning a new "toy"!
