Yup life has its ups and downs. Glad you feel like you have the time and energy to sew Honchey. Hope it helps perk you up a bit.

Of course, it was her arm, what else could it be?
Isn't it amazing how those little creatures grow? Thanks for sharing, QNS.
I've no blocks sewn, but tonight picked the first broccoli and some buttercrunch lettuce. The Romaine is going to be ready soon too. I planted the broccoli around the 3rd week of April, when I usually plant and expect the first heads around Father's Day. Guess it's about 3 weeks ahead of schedule. I was so surprised to see little side shoots already appearing.

OKGlad...looks so fresh and good to eat!

I didn't get to sew today like I wanted to; I *should* be able to tomorrow though.

Well here's another reason why I have no blocks.

Not only did I get rid of a bunch of squares and seersucker pieces I also found 6 flat sheets from old sheet sets and 3 or 4 lengths of seersucker to use as backings. This group is looking for utility, functional quilts. PS the seersucker was hard to press a seam in; must be the poly in it. They will tie them. Another bonus is it freed up space in my sewing room!!

Gladie; Looks like those broccoli plants will be delicious! Here is what I've been doing in my garden-picking strawberries and cutting flowers! I'd say about 3 weeks ahead here, too. N.

N, wow fresh berries and flowers from the garden! I never had the patience to do sberries, mostly to keep the bed free of weeds; and C doesn't particularly like them. Picked another 2 heads of broccoli tonight. Have 1 more that's close and then it will be a while for the later planting to be ready.

N--Beautiful strawberries and flowers! Even the berries at the store looked yummy tonight so I got a few...fresh are so much better though!

Love the pictures and stories about the garden. I have picked a gallon of big red cherries and about a gallon of strawberries; had fresh peas and potatoes creamed together. Also picked rhubarb to freeze from both tires. Herbs are getting well established and growing.

Turkeys flew out of their "legal" area today, so its clipping their wings tomorrow morning before they roam the orchard. Chickens were "rolled" out into the sunshine today; but back in the garage with the chicken tractor tonight.

Don't you love the month of June and there's almost a full Strawberry Moon out tonight!

jillnjo 06-03-2012 04:50 AM

What's a strawberry moon? love those ducks and enjoyed the pictures. My daughter bought 10 chicks of different breeds for laying hens and just finished the cutest little hen house for them. They had been in a water tank and she said they had a palace now! Aren't animals fun and such a great thing for kids to care for?
