Thanks JanRN, #29 came out better than I expected with the fussy cutting. I like the colors in #30 but there's no texture -the patterns blend together-they are too smooth, flat. I'm going to redo this one-- oh well, now I'll have another potholder for the house in NC.

I love the combination of fabric you picked for #30.

Wow! I'm running out of adjectives--these are all so nice. You all pick such pretty colors and do such nice work. I'm going out now to buy a Thesaurus LOL.

Ronda, Your's are perfect!! Funny thing--You have no idea how many times I picked up and put down the roses- it's background is a funny shade of dirty off-white ecru and just didn't go with anything else and said to myself "I don't care you're going in this quilt". I bought my sashing fabric yesterday- anyone going to guess what color I got???

Thank you Anne! Did you perhaps pick one the rose colors from your beautiful block posted? Or perhaps the green from the fabulous rose fabric?

Kitchen window it is then! Economy is just depressing. That red always reminds me of my grandmother's kitchen. Nice association.

Thanks.

Blocks 29 & 30 I'm thinking of redoing #30-not enough contrast; I'll wait to see when there are more around it and then decide.

I know, I've found that the dark blue print combined with the dark red print in a couple of mine are the same way. When you are working so close to them they seem okay, then you stand back and look at them when you have them sewn and you can't see why you sewed them together that way.

Thank you for your comments on my blocks. This is such a great idea to do the FWS blocks with all of the ladies & gents on this board. It is like going to a quilt show every day. There are so many pretty blocks and it will be great to see everyone's completed. You have been very helpful to everyone. Thanks again.

Kitsapquilter 11-11-2010 09:25 PM

Both blocks are very pretty but that one with the pink roses is to die for!

Debo 11-12-2010 12:55 PM

All of your blocks are so pretty.

Suzanne57 11-12-2010 03:20 PM

Thank you. I found these two blocks easier compared to the ones I'm trying to finish now (26). I'm already on my 2nd one. I didn't like the lack of contrast for the little HSTs. The more I look at those 1 inch HSTs the more I think I hate them.
