I love them esp the "Space Invaders". Great colors!

Hills and valleys I liked, but another fruit/grape/ basket of basket valley makes me weary of the that pattern. Thanks to all for the chance at sharing and thanks for looking.

deranged_damsel 01-05-2011 07:07 AM

well.... maybe they look distorted because the scanner bed was so cold it fogged up??? I dont know, they look funkin weird.

I did 47 awhile ago and I'm still working on 45 & 46. I fussy cut 47- I think it looks very Victorian. My opinion. Anne , Here it is!!!

Yes, I find the paper supports the fabric and keeps the blocks from going wonky. I really just started with this quilt to do pping. I gave some hints and helps with how I did this block in the discussionPage. Oh and thanks for the compliments. they really buoy my ego. Anne

deranged_damsel 01-05-2011 11:50 AM

OOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooOOOHHHHHHH!!!!! Very pretty!

rwquilts 01-05-2011 03:29 PM

Very pretty blocks everyone. Here are my 45 & 46. Love your #47 block. Mine turned out pretty good for doing it with templates. I'm ready to do #53 jackknife. Are we going to do a thread for blocks 26-50.

Hi Violet, Your blocks turned out soooo nice !

The hills and valley with your fabric reminds me of bow ties and tuxedo-real classy !!

Quilting Nonnie 01-06-2011 05:29 PM

My goodness! Here it is Thursday and I forgot to look yesterday! You guyses are certainly zippy! I want to comment on each block separately because they are all so colorful and individual and gorgeous.

Love the purples as always!
The aliens were out-of-this-world!
Anne, RWQuilts, Judy, JanRN, we must be sisters under the skin because I always adore your blocks and your colors!

Now I can't look back to see the other blocks since I'm in reply mode, unless I edit later.

Anywhoooo, the blocks look maahhhvelous!

I like baskets! And looking forward to strange #46!

Kudos everyone!

See? I did come back to edit...AuntJo & Violet's farm: lovely, lovely!

QuiltingNinaSue I always look forward to the fabrics you're going to choose and how you interpret the block. Gotta love those sour grapes!

Deranged Damsel, they're looking good. You are doing a great job. I can't imagine trying this when I was in the early years of quilting!

And Anne....your #47....I am humbled and in awe of your prestigious skill! ;-) That block is stunning!

violetsfarm 01-07-2011 05:09 AM

Thank you Honchey. I am really enjoying this FWS. I have never been in a group before. Violet

Wow, you guys make me not want to post my blocks! Weezie, I love your "space invaders"! janRN, your 46 in neutral batiks is beautiful. Anne, your block 47 surely set a high bar; I hated 47, which I wanted to toss out and had such trouble putting together. (sigh) But, here are my current blocks. Not especially eye candy (46 may get done over), but they'll do for now.

Evie, Nonsense! :-D I like your blocks! Don't use this quilt-along as a tool to beat yourself up! We're all at different stages. I know I'm learning a lot from doing these blocks...and people here have helped me with difficulties. We're in it for fun and camaraderie. No quilt police here... and don't you use an internal quilt police sergeant to make you unhappy! <<<HUGS>>>

I think we all have blocks we are not fond of, but I think when they are all together in the finished quilt they will not stand out as they do now. I keep looking at my display wall and saying, "I don't like that one, or that one is to dark", but once they are all sewn together you don't see the individual blocks, but the quilt as a whole. You blocks will blend in just fine!!

rwquilts 01-07-2011 05:50 PM

The blocks are all wonderful!!!

Quilting Nonnie, I agree with you! I always look forward to seeing yours as well!

janRN 01-07-2011 06:58 PM

Evie I love your blocks-the red, white, and black is going to make an awesome quilt. And Violet-your basket has such perfect triangles.
I'm just in awe of each block posted!! I'm running out of adjectives!!!

These pictures are all so lovely. A huge pat on the back to all of you who've been able to keep up the pace. I'm looking forward to getting caught up soon.

Wow, everyone's blocks are so fantastic! It continues to amaze me how the different color combinations impact the block presentations. I love the red/blank/white and of course purple is one of my favorite colors - don't get to work with that much.

Great work everyone - and great support too. This is a fantastic project to learn measuring, piecing, and getting corners to line up. :)
