Very pretty Anne-very jealous of your #47, your inset seams are perfect and I love the colors. Wasn't #48 a "relief"? I needed an easy block. Looks like you're getting all caught up--are you settled in?

Hi Jan, Not completely, we're doing things piecemeal-I don't feel overwhelmed that way. We're here until the 29th of Jan. then heading back home for My grandson's b'day. I have one for him every year It's kind of a surprise 'cause he never knows what day it's going to be. Back to the blocks, Anne

RW, I paper pieced mine also- I used the original templates tho, I didn't get your configuration with the center block pieced. I wish I had seen yours--it would have been alot easier. Yours turned out great!!

Thank you. Right back atcha about your blocks! All the blocks are great looking. I had a compliment paid me on my last week's blocks for which I did not say thank you. I'm sorry about that; last week was a bit of a bummer, with dog surgery and after-surgery care.

Lovely blocks ladies. Here are mine. Today I'm trying to shake off a cold and sore throat, and dh has been fighting bronchitis. Not a very good few days for us.

Hi Granny, I have to inform you that I didn't start it. I offered to do the rotary cutting instructions and the posting of the thread. Muriel got busy with work and had a hard time getting to do the other two threads so I told her I would do them for her as I was posting my thread about the cutting it wouldn't be any trouble. That's how it started. Anne

Another week down wow, managed to get #47 done today. Got myself in a pickle over the fabric cutting (not hard to do when coming off pain medication) so my light and dark are around the (wrong) other way. Have no plans to try this block again
Now that I am back on my feet hope to get ahead a little

Hi Hockeymom, we are all doing the Farmers Wife Sampler Quilt from the book by Laurie Aaron Hird, everyone has their own book and we are making 2 blocks each week.

oksewglad 01-13-2011 04:14 PM

Hi everyone--The blocks are everyone's blocks are so well constructed! Wow! I love the diversity of fabricsw as well.
I'm a newbie to this activity--finished blocks 47 and 48 last night. I could tell the Homemaker was a more difficult block--did someone mention "Homewrecker"?, so did 48 first. I went to take pics and my batteries are dead--sigh. As soon as they recharge I'll get pic's posted. Now working backward to one, have 45 & 46 cut and ready to sew.

OK here's my first 2 blocks. Initially had thought I would do 2 of each block--glad I decided to sew only one with the CW fabrics I have. These 6 inch babies are harder than they look! And I sew using 3/4" pieces--LOL

I can't believe all the beautiful blocks for this week! You ladies are tremendous!

It seems a few of you are sick. Judy, sorry to hear you're not feeling well. :( Miralbelle, you too, hope you're feeling better.

Ladies, you are my inspiration! <<HUGS>>>

Quilting Nonnie 01-14-2011 05:21 AM

Jeanie I love your block 47! The plaid (checked?) fabric is cool. I think your Christmas fabrics are so cool because of the muted colors like in block 48. Very pretty.

janRN 01-14-2011 05:35 AM

I just love everyone's blocks!! Each one is so unique; we know they're from the same patterns but they look so different.
I've never seen that fabric with the little quilting notions-too cute!

I hope to start mine today, I feel that I may survive after all.LOL (wasn't sure for a couple days) This has been one heck of a down spell.
Just think we're "almost" half done...

Here are my blocks. Thank you, rwquilts, for your clever way of making #48 easy to paper piece!

I haven't caught up with all of you, but I decided to make the blocks we're doing weekly and then just work on the ten that I haven't done yet.

I just want to say that I'm so glad that we have such a great group doing these blocks. We all support each other to keep on going and going and going.

All of the blocks look great--I so look forward to see the different fabric and the shortcuts to sewing them.
Keep up the good work! Anne
